Spinoffs
Rearden Labs has a history of masterminding amazing stuff that's either wildly innovative or just plain cool.
Such a thing recently happened.
We're undertaking the huge task of bringing a technology to market that has the potential to change the way people live their lives, the way that cell phones, Digital Video Recorders and the Internet have already affected all of us.
Sounds ambitious? Yes, it is!
Grabbing this opportunity is going to take a whole bunch more brilliant engineers than we already have.
Want to know what the opportunity is? We'd love to be able to tell you. But we can't. Yet. But although we can't tell you what our Big Secret Killer Plan is, we wouldn't expect you to commit in the dark. Show us some cred and we'd love to let you in on it.
For what it's worth, we're not building a website, it's not Web2.0 or Web3.0 or Web4.2 or anything else that 8 zilllion startups are already doing. Promise.
Anyway, we need all sorts of software engineers: low-level, high-level, apps, middleware, database, ops, tools, more.
We appreciate a balance of "make it work" and "make it beautiful." We understand that simplest is usually better than cleverest. We care about getting things done, but also care that they're done well. We seriously believe in the importance of scaling, maintenance, and continuous improvement. We believe it's often better to beg, borrow, or buy instead of building from scratch, especially as we've got plenty to invent regardless. We believe in hiring smart people and giving them free rein.
Willingness to learn is a plus. Personality is a plus. Attitude is a plus. Primadonnaship is not a plus. You've got to be bright (figuratively), interested (literally), and inventive.
We have a great team and killer management. We're well funded. We're in downtown Palo Alto.
